Portugal, in general, is a laid-back place but Alentejo takes that to another level.
Everything happens at its own pace and people still operate the way they would have done a hundred years ago. It is very pure and full of character.
Just an hour and a half from Lisbon, but city life is completely stripped away.
At night, with virtually no light pollution, the stars are myriad in the dark sky.
That is where contemporary and comfortable Monte do Vale , which accommodates up to 10 adults + 2 kids, is located in the middle of a stubborn, slow-moving, durable nature.

Melhor de tudo: a casa tem 4 bicicletas que nos permitiram conhecer com pormenor a planície alentejana. Anfitriões muito simpáticos e disponíveis. We had 14 great days. The houses were great for us. There were 6 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 children aged 8-2. The big house has a bathroom in every room, the small house had one which was perfectly adequate. Everything is very well maintained, Mr Jossee more
We had 14 great days. The houses were great for us. There were 6 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 children aged 8-2. The big house has a bathroom in every room, the small house had one which was perfectly adequate. Everything is very well maintained, Mr Jose and his wife are always available. We needed a parasol and we had one the next day. The housekeeper Isabell was also very accommodating. The houses are surrounded by olive trees, you really have peace and quiet. All the houses are equipped with everything, shopping is about 15 minutes away by car. We would come again!!!
