Vila Casanova offers a wonderful secluded space for reconnection as is inserted in a unique natural environment, in a place that seems far from everything but still close to the beach and historic cities like Lisbon and Évora.
No wonder that super affluent people have chosen this extraordinarily beautiful spot which happens to sit in the middle of a 40-mile stretch of nearly untouched Atlantic Ocean beaches, and at the edge of hundreds of square miles of cork oak fields, vineyards, and rice fields. Guided horse riding tours will be a unique way to explore picturesque landscapes, providing thrilling horseback adventures through rolling hills, dense forests, and even along the breathtaking coastline.

Traditionally the houses in this region are made out of rammed earth construction methods called taipa (mud walls). It is an excellent thermal and acoustic insulator. Air conditioning is not essential but fans can be provided if necessary.

Guests will be delighted with the comfortable bedrooms complete with bright bedding, wooden ceilings, and vibrant craftwork that adorn the walls.

A decoração é acolhedora, o espaço é muito agradável e bonito, tudo muito confortável. O telheiro é a cereja no topo do bolo, passámos lá muito tempo à conversa e a cozinhar e comer.

Everything was great. The House is beautiful and feels like being on a ranch. The kitchen is well equipped and we had some good barbecues in the outside area which was really nice. The pool could use some umbrellas to provide shadows to be able to enjoy the pool area more. But despite this, we were overall very happy to be there and can only recommend, especially if you’re looking to spend time with a big familygroup of friends it’s the perfect place to be.

This place is amazing. The space is huge and there is access to two houses and a pool giving familieslarge groups lots of space. The house is set up for hosting large groups with cooking facilities, bbqs and lots of outdoors dining space including use of a vegetable garden. Lots of choice in stunning beaches nearby ~20 mins drive. We surfed and visited several nice beach clubs just outside Melides and further south. Highly recommend this place!

The houses worked really well, we rented for 10 days and were 20 at some point. The house owner baked us a cake & suggested we order fresh bread for the local bakery to be delivered each morning to the house. Everything worked well for our use and we were happy about it. Two things to notice is that on arrival we were told that the water was not drinkable and there were a few large bottles of water for us. But we were 20 for 20 days, so we’re had to buy a lot of water. At some point I decided to investigate what was in the water, and contacted the local authorities and then the owner directly and both said there was nothing wrong with the water, just some extra natural iron in it, and that it’s actually good for our health. The other thing that I want to point out is that as the main house is mainly made of wood so there is not a lot of sound privacy between rooms. That was not a problem for us however.

We were a group of 14 people ages around 30 with 4 kids. There are only good things to say about the houses, the location, and the lovely host Anabela that made us feel like home the whole 7 days we were there. In fact she is the main reason that made us decide to come back next year.
The pool maintenance was kept active throughout our stay so the water was nicely clean and transparent at all times (the area around the pool is perfect for sunset drinks with music )
The location is close enough to the main road to make it easy to get anywhere -beaches , restaurants , supermarket but still far enough to not even notice it .
we highly recommend it!

I have been on this place for 9 weeks, and I can highly recommend it for any big group, family, business and relatives. We have used this place for different purposes. It is really suitable for different kind of groups and still intimate enough to be together. The second house gave me the privacy of having my own garden and private space, whilst the great house was used by company teams, and later when on holiday family members and friends.

The property is well taken care of, the garden is full of vegetables that can be eaten, the furniture and interior is new and well taken care of. Kitchen and bathrooms fully stocked with all that is necessary. Warm outsides showers are a delight in the morning, and the swimming pool and deck is very nice.

Also the owner is really lovely, super nice and friendly, and sometimes they bring you homemade cake and other local things once in a while. The cleaning is also super solid, every week we had a new and clean home to be in.

I would recommend this property to everyone looking for a nice place in Portugal in the country side to enjoy at peace the place.

Absolutely amazing stay. Villa is clean and very well stocked. Kitchen is highly functional and had everything we needed. Linens and bathrooms were spotless. We had both properties and comfortably slept 13 people aged 8 to 84. Outdoor space is wonderful for family eating. Pool is not huge but comfortable for four or five people at once. Lots of loungers to relax in. Location is very quiet and quite remote. Amazing stars and sunsets! Vegetable gardens on the property, the owner was very generous and we had tomatoes, onions, zucchini from the ground to the table. Two mins from highway makes it super convenient. Supermarkets 10mins away. Incredible beaches 20/30 mins away. Drive from Lisbon was easy and about an hour and twenty mins. Property managers were amazing, responsive, kind and helpful with advice on places to go (thanks Carlos and Rafael!!) Owner is lovely and brought us homemade cake one night. We loved our stay and would be delighted to return. Many thanks from all of us.
