Region:
About 45 minutes away from Lisbon, Tróia is a peninsula surrounded by 3 natural parks, with the sea, long sandy beaches and mountains enhanced in perfect harmony.
Tróia is a paradise that combines panoramic views with charm. Its unique preservation of nature makes this place an exclusive holiday destination in Portugal.
The white sandy shores and the transparent sea of this place will make you feel far away from everything and close to paradise.
In balance with and respecting the environment it's possible to enjoy a series of activities, ranging from sports to the region’s excellent gastronomy.
In the north coastal region of Alentejo is the Tróia Peninsula, installed on a sand dune, 17 km long and 1.5 km wide. It’s 45 km from Lisbon and its casino and marina and from an 18-hole golf course on the edge of the ocean.
Archaeological investigations are in progress, so the Roman ruins are not yet fully open to the public. However, it is possible to visit the workshops of salting fish, baths, and the mausoleum that houses the "Rua da Princesa".
At the southern edge of the peninsula is Comporta, a village of just over 1000 inhabitants, a land of vineyards and rice inserted between the plains of Alentejo and the Atlantic shores. You can visit the "Rice Museum" located in one of the old mills, see the threshing, winnowing and rice hulling and the cellars of the “Herdade Comporta”.
Continuing further south, we arrive at Grândola, a peaceful town in the Alentejo, located 40 km south of Setubal and the mouth of the river Sado, in the plains of cork oaks.
There are 45 km of white sandy beaches that stretch from Tróia to Melides.

  • The house and garden are fabulously spacious and well maintained. There is loads to do in and around the villa (tennis, pool, kayaks, bikes) as well as surrounding area. Setubal is lovely, Comporta has wine tasting and is a rice growing area, lots of interesting history and information. Great weather too!

  • We had a fabulous stay at Villa Aqua. Perfect weather for early May, most of our time spent using the pool (lovely), tennis court, bikes, kayaks & paddle boards. We got the ferry to Setubal for a great night out – very reasonably priced restaurants & cafes and delicious food. The rooms were very clean and spacious (beds a little hard) and kitchen very well equipped. We did have an issue with the electrics – kettle tripped the system when we arrived, but a new kettle was brought. Would love to come again!

  • “Great villa – highly recommended for a big group.”

We had a fantastic time at Villa Aqua. The villa caters very well for large groups, especially couples. The engagement with Allure Villas was also great and they were very helpful and responsive leading up to the trip. The villa had all the necessary things you would expect from a holiday home and the outside areas for entertaining were amazing. The villa could do with some additional kitchen equipment (smaller pots and pans, sharper knives, more chopping boards, peeler) but these are just suggested improvements and did not detract from our holiday. We would definitely stay at Villa Aqua again.

  • “Muy buena experiencia”

La casa esta muy bien ubicada y muy bien cuidada. Miguel (que era responsable de solucionar los pequeños problemas) nos dio un servicio excelente y cualquier pequeño problema, fue solucionado rapidamente.

  • “Perfect Holiday”

We stayed at the Villa from 6.october-13.october and had so much luck with the weather. We were 8 adults and 2 children We enjoied our time there. Everything was clean and there were enough towels. One big and 2 small for the bathroom and one for the pool. The kitchen was well equiped but sometimes there could be some more bowl. Additionaly it would be nice if there would be already salt and pepper in the kitchen as well as towels for the kitchen. To buy Food there is one bigger (but expensive) shop in troia and one Little shop just a few minutes with the car. The beach was nice but the way from the house to the beach was a Little bit dirty (There were laying old fishing nets and so on). The Tennis court was perfect and there are enough balls and 4 Rackets. All in all it was a perfect Holiday and the bedrooms have a nice few over the pool and the beach.

  • “Fantastic holiday”

We stayed at Villa Aqua in the first week of September with daughters aged 20 and 25. The location is perfect and the villa is well equipped. Most of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and they all have good matrasses and pillows The entire house has a good functioning AC and Wifi. Not that we were in the house much. Most of the days were spent in the pool, on the tennis court, on the beach or in the kayaks. We did a big shopping in Setubal on our way in and used the 2 small supermarkets for the additional needs. The ferry is 5 minutes away by car and the catamaran 10 minutes. We enjoyed the privacy of the house, all in all a perfect holiday. We hope to return again soon.

  • “Holiday with Family”

Very nice property for larger groups and suitable also for families. Great and spacious garden area with good tennis court. We also enjoyed the outside BBQ. Good privacy as there are no Villas next door. In Troia area there are no big supermarket, only smaller ones with rather high prices. We took the ferry couple of times to Setubal for bigger grocery shopping and found that rather easy (of course you need rental car). Hopefully returning back with family & friends.

  • “Amazing place for family vacation”

We stayed at Villa Aqua in mid-June 2016 with a 3 families with kids. The house is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped and the suites were gorgeous, each with a large bathroom. The location was quiet and clean. I would definitely recommend the house especially for family holidays when you want to spend some days just at the house, enjoying the pool, the tennis court and large garden. The beach is right by, and it was great for walks. For swimming and waves though, the Atlantic side is better. Comporta beach, just a short drive away was our favourite, Carvalhal was amazing too, and some of us took surfing lessons there. We also appreciated the bikes and kayaks at the house, and the villa manager was friendly and helpful, for example, immediately taking action and helping us when electricity went out. For day trips, one of our favourites was Evora.

Our stay here was outstanding! Villa is very luxueus. – Terrific kitchen, both inside and outside. – very large rooms incl. Seperate bathrooms – pooltable also very nice – very quiet airco system Garden is very pretty. Tenniscourt is really nice and of good quality And the direct entrance to the private beach is a gift from heaven, besides the luxury of the private swimmingpool. Only minus are the relative hard beds. Thank you for having us here and hope to come back some day

  • “A beautiful luxury villa in a unique peaceful beachfront location.”

We received a very warm personal welcome from the owners, who explained how everything worked and ensured we were happy with everything before they left. Tróia is a truly amazing location, the beach is at the bottom of the garden and is virtually private, very few other people. We were a family group, though our children are adults now and they made full use of the kayaks, tennis court and pool. The villa is very well equipped, beds in the three ensuite rooms are king/super king, some of the showers are also steam rooms, his and hers sinks ,etc. Linen changed weekly and plenty of towels and beach towels. The villa was also cleaned mid way through our stay. Our most memorable trip was dolphin watching as a group live in the estuary. We also enjoyed the Karts at Palmela and the amazing palaces of Sintra. The price of such peace and privacy is a ferry trip to Setúbal if you tire of the restaurants on the Marina or want a sightseeing trip to Sintra or Lisbon which can make the location slightly isolated particularly as the season seems rather short with some places closing mid September.
