  • “nice space, great location”

The Villa is very well located, good space, we experienced problems with the kitchen appliances, most of the days we didn’t had hot water. In the future you should consider a change of cleaned towels during the period.

  • “good location”

Mega good location in a paradise not yet spoiled by other tourists. The house is bright, with good terraces. The rooms are large and spacious. The garden is not big but is nice and paradise-like. The area is quiet and lush with many trees. There is ample opportunity for long beautiful walks. However, air conditioning is lacking at night. If you open the windows at night there are some mosquitoes who would like to party with you 🙂 There are only 2 shopping opportunities in the area. The minimum market, which is one of them, is directly opposite the property. Here they have almost everything on very few square meters.

  • “Week in August 2019”

We travelled as family of 8 adults and 5 children (8, 4, 3, 2 and 4 months). The villa is a beautiful property in a really quiet suburban area. It is 5 minutes walk from the lovely coastline on the peninsula. It is also within walking distance of the car ferry to Setubal so transfer from Lisbon airport is fairly simple. The pool area and pool are lovely, and the pool itself was a good size and clean. However, the rear of the property including the bbq area could do with a tidy up as it seems a bit tired and so we didn’t spend much time there. Internally the property is huge. There are 5 good sized double bedrooms and a twin bedroom which is great for children. In the main the property is in good condition, however as with most holiday lets I have experienced it does need some touch ups/work to improve it, such as a fresh lick of paint in places and freshening up a couple of the bathrooms. The area itself is very quiet, the nearest restaurant is a nice Italian about 15 mins walk away. There is a beach bar around 15 mins walk away also. The mini market has a little cafe attached and there is a cafe round the corner too, but we weren’t too interested in visiting them. Troia is a really nice little marina with ample cafes and restaurants. It’s around 3.5 miles away. The only real negative we found was the lack of places to buy food and the cost of food; the mini market over the road had minimal choice. We drove to the supermarket in Troia but again it was limited and expensive. There is a large supermarket in Sutubal which was good and cheaper, but a ferry ride away. Overall an enjoyable holiday and villa, but a few work ons to improve it further. 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion is fair.

  • “Very nice villa”

We were eight adults and four children. We really enjoyed our stay in the villa. The photos do not really do it justice. Sol Troia is a luxury well kept estate with detached architect designed houses set in grounds with gorgeous trees and shrubs.Villa Aurea has a commanding location on a corner. There is plenty of space in the house and it is a short walk to the beach. There were very few people on the beach for the week we were there. The swimming pool is lovely and well kept by Miguel the manager. There are lovely places to sit by the pool in shade and in sun. There are now plenty of sunbeds. On a more negative front I would echo the comments of a previous reviewer who said that the mattresses were very firm-they are, and the furniture is basic, just adequate. The sea is cold, I mean cold, so the swimming pool was used in preference to numb legs. Troia town is a completely new development and quite sterile. We didn’t venture outside the local area so I cannot comment on what is available-golf, dolphins etc.

  • “Family holiday June 2019”

We had a lovely two-week holiday as a family of 8 adults and 4 children in this villa. The area is very quiet and the villa is conveniently located close to beaches and the mini-mart. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool area, although on very hot days the floor tiles outside the house grew very hot and burnt the children’s feet. We requested two baby high chairs and two cots and they were all supplied on time and with all the necessary bedding etc. However, the mattresses in almost all bedrooms, apart from the master bed and single, were very hard and uncomfortable. We also found the living room furniture to be rather uncomfortable and it’s glorified pool furniture, placed inside the house. There are plentiful dining areas both inside and outside and the pool area is very attractive with plenty of sun beds. Overall I would recommend this villa, although the steep drop from the retaining wall in the back garden is rather a worry with small children. Miguel is the villa manager and he provided excellent service, he cleaned the pool regularly and responded quickly to requests. He was also very considerate in agreeing to adapt our arrival and leaving times and was most helpful.

  • “Millie B, UK”

We had two weeks in this villa in August. It is a lovely villa, with lots of space and a good big kitchen and outdoor barbecue space at the back. The pool is not very big, but it’s ok as long as you don’t have lots of big teenagers. The surrounding area is fantastic with really beautiful beaches and places to eat out in Comporta as well. The villa manager was brilliant, very helpful with every question we had. There are only four sun beds, but the villa sleeps 10, so just be aware of that. We had a really great holiday and the villa is right opposite a great little shop with cafe and bakery selling fresh coffee and croissants etc. We definitely recommend this villa for families with children.
